Framber Valdez Signs Big Deal

The Detroit Tigers now have the best one-two punch starting pitching duo in all of baseball! According to multiple reports, coveted free agent Framber Valez has signed a three year, $115 million contract with the Tigers. Valdez, 32, will receive the highest AAV ever for a left-handed pitcher as well as the highest for a Latin American pitcher, per the report.

With Tarik Skubal and now Valez leading the rotation, the Tigers have made a huge move for the future of their franchise.  During his career with the Houston Astros, Valez has been exceptional; he is a former All Star, a World Series Champion, has a career 3.30 ERA, a MLB record 25 consecutive quality starts, and was a Gold Glove finalist.

In addition, Valez has averaged 30 starts and 192 innings per year since the 2021 season. He’s also baseball’s top ground ball starter, getting over 60% of balls in play to be grounders, which is by far and away the best in the sport. With Valez, Detroit is now one of the most dangerous teams in the entire American League.
