Juan Soto’s Monster Night Powers Mets Past Tigers

Juan Soto proved once again why he’s one of the most feared hitters in all of baseball. On Monday night, the Mets’ superstar put the team on his back, piling up six RBIs in a thrilling 10–8 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Soto’s bat was electric from the start. His grand slam blew the game wide open, sending Citi Field into a frenzy, and his later two-run triple provided the cushion the Mets desperately needed to hold off Detroit’s late rally. When the dust settled, it was clear—this was Soto’s night.

The performance wasn’t just another strong outing. It was a statement. Soto showed the complete package: patience, power, and clutch hitting. For a Mets team that’s been searching for consistency, his dominance at the plate was the difference between another frustrating loss and a morale-boosting win.

With six RBIs, Soto not only tied his personal best but also joined a short list of Mets sluggers to carry an offense almost single-handedly in a game this season.

League-Wide Spotlight

Soto wasn’t the only headline across the league.

The Rangers extended their winning streak to six behind timely hitting from Cody Freeman.

In Tampa, the Mariners’ pitching staff collapsed, giving up double-digit runs as rookie Leo Rivas brightened the night with his first career homer.

Meanwhile, playoff contenders across the league continue to jockey for position as September baseball heats up.

What It Means for the Mets

For New York, Soto’s monster performance is more than just another highlight reel. It’s a reminder of why the franchise went all-in on acquiring him. If the Mets are going to make a serious postseason push, nights like this from Soto will be essential.

And if Monday was any indication, Soto is ready to deliver.
