Matt Chapman Homers Twice as Giants Extend Home Run Streak to 17 Games

The San Francisco Giants kept their power surge rolling on Wednesday night, and Matt Chapman was at the center of the show.

Chapman belted two home runs and drove in four runs, leading the Giants to a 9–3 win over the Colorado Rockies. The performance not only secured a series sweep but also extended San Francisco’s franchise-best home run streak in the San Francisco era to 17 straight games.

The night came with a little extra drama. Chapman is currently appealing a one-game suspension handed down after his role in the benches-clearing incident earlier this week. While that process plays out, he’s doing his best talking with the bat.

“I just want to help this team win,” Chapman said postgame. “We’re clicking at the right time, and every game matters from here on out.”

The Giants’ offense has caught fire down the stretch, and Chapman’s resurgence is a big reason why. With the playoff picture tightening in the National League, San Francisco’s ability to keep the ball flying out of the park could be a major storyline heading into September baseball.

Social media exploded after Chapman’s second long ball, with fans debating whether his suspension will hold and celebrating the Giants’ streak. One fan on X summed it up best: “Suspend him if you want, but you can’t suspend the bat.”

The Giants now head into their weekend series with momentum and swagger, with Chapman leading the charge.
