While it is very early and most teams have only played 5 or 6 games, there is a short list of players that have more than struggled, they have downright dug themselves a huge hole to start the season.
The only player in the league right now who has more than 10 at bats but no hits is Caleb Durbin of the 1-5 Boston Red Sox. Durbin, who hit .256 with 11 homeruns and 53 RBIs last season, is currently 0-18 to start the season, making him the last remaining qualified Major League player to not get a hit this season.
Durbin, however, is far from being the only player to struggle early in the season. Seattle Mariners’ first baseman Josh Naylor has been almost as bad. Naylor, a career .267 hitter who hit .295 with 20 HRs last season, is currently 1-27 with a .037 batting average and a .170 OPS.
Cedric Mullins, a center fielder for the Tampa Bay Rays, is batting .048 (1-21) through 6 games. His lone hit was a double that drove in two runs.
When the Pittsburgh Pirates signed Marcell Ozuna to a free agent contract during the offseason, they expected him to provide veteran leadership and consistency in the middle of their batting order, but so far, Ozuna has been ice cold. Ozuna is currently 1-20 with a .050 batting average and 0 RBIs through 6 games.
Nick Kurtz and Spencer Steer are both 1-17 to start the season, and Julio Rodriguez (2-26), Kyle Manzardo (2-24) and Kerry Carpenter (2-22) are the only eligible players with only 2 hits right now.

That said, it is very early in the season, and the aforementioned players are talented, proven hitters who will almost certainly turn it around, but for now, the struggles are real and something worth keeping a close eye on.
